Mode of Selection / Exam Stages
- Online Examination — A back-to-back testing session consisting of an Objective Test (120 marks, 2 hours, no negative marking) and a Descriptive Test (50 marks, 30 minutes, typed on a computer).
- Screening Phase — A designated committee reviews your application and checks your employer-certified Job Profile to ensure your banking experience aligns with SBI's Scale-I Generalist Officer duties.
- Interview Round — Candidates who pass the screening are shortlisted (up to approximately 3 times the vacancies) for a 50-mark personal interview.
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) — A final test to verify your ability to read, write, and speak the circle's local language before joining. You are exempt if you studied the language in the 10th or 12th grade.
- Final Merit — Calculated using a 75:25 weightage ratio between the Online Examination and the Interview.
