Recruitment Overview
Mode of Selection / Exam Stages
- INET CBT — An online computer-based Indian Navy Entrance Test containing 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions assessing domain-specific technical fields.
- Physical & Offline Written — Shortlisted candidates undergo physical efficiency tests (PFT), a second offline balancing written exam, and preliminary documents check.
- Medical Evaluation — Comprehensive final medical fitness boards conducted at INS Chilka prior to formal induction.

Qualification Level & Academic Benchmarks
The academic eligibility profile for the Agniveer Apprentice entry mandates a technical background combining standard secondary education and a formal engineering diploma:
1. Mandatory Matriculation Standard
- Candidates must have successfully cleared their Matriculation (Class 10th) board examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board of education.
2. Mandatory Technical Diploma
- Candidates must hold a completed 3-Year Engineering Diploma from an AICTE-recognized Polytechnic Institute with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Eligible Engineering Streams: Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Marine, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Power Plant Engineering, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
Batch-Wise Age Limit Rules
Because the INET 02/2026 framework feeds into two distinct training intakes, candidates must strictly fall into the specific date of birth (DOB) brackets outlined below:

All India Availability Rule: This is an All India level vacancy. Unmarried male citizens from any state or union territory across India are eligible to apply. While the initial INET online exam uses state-wise shortlisting cut-offs, the entry scheme is fully accessible nationwide, and selected candidates will train together at INS Chilka.
Physical Fitness Standards (PFT)
Candidates passing the Stage-I online screening test must qualify the following on-field physical evaluation standards:
- Height Standard: Minimum 157 cm required.
- 1.6 km Running Target: Must be completed within 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
- Squats (Uthak Baithak): 20 repetitions.
- Push-ups: 15 repetitions.
- Bent Knee Sit-ups: 15 repetitions.
