UPESSC Uttar Pradesh TET Examination 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the specific minimum guidelines corresponding to their targeted teaching papers:
Primary Level (Paper I: Classes 1 to 5)
- Basic Academic Benchmark: A Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- Professional Prerequisite: Must have completed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / BTC), a 4-year B.El.Ed degree, or an NCTE-approved Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
Upper Primary Level (Paper II: Classes 6 to 8)
- Basic Academic Benchmark: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a UGC-recognized university.
- Professional Prerequisite: Must hold or be pursuing the final year of a 2-year D.El.Ed (BTC), an NCTE-approved B.Ed / B.Ed Special Education, or an integrated 4-year B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed degree.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The Exam City Slip is an advance notice that tells you the city where your center is located to help you plan travel. The actual Admit Card contains your exact school/college address and entry instructions.
According to the official UPESSC notification, the final UPTET Admit Cards will be available for download from June 30, 2026, onwards.
General category candidates must score at least 60% (90 out of 150 marks). Candidates belonging to reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST, and PwD) require a minimum of 55% (82 out of 150 marks).
No, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates will receive one mark for every correct response across both 150-mark question papers.
Once you successfully pass the UPTET exam, your eligibility certificate is valid for a lifetime. You do not need to retake the test unless you want to improve your score.
