The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the evaluation phase by releasing the provisional answer key for the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination. Conducted across global test centers, this core assessment pipeline establishes the nationwide tier ranking system for admission to elite MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH medical programs.
Mode of Selection / Exam Stages
- Written Evaluation Tracking — This formula calculates a test score using a penalty for wrong answers, commonly known as negative marking. For every correct answer you give, you earn 4 points, but for every incorrect answer, 1 point is subtracted from that total. Questions left blank do not affect your score. For example, if you get 15 answers right (60 points) and 5 answers wrong (5 points), your final score is $60 - 5 = 55$.
- All India Merit Generation — Compiling raw performance percentiles into a centralized ranking directory.
- MCC Centralized Counseling — Allocation of 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and 85% State Quota institutional seats based on score rankings.
Exam Paper Codes & Content Structure
The nationwide re-examination was structured uniformly using four distinct paper booklets: Codes 50, 60, 70, and 80. The evaluation metrics are split into specialized discipline weights:
- Physics: 45 Questions (Reviewed by students as the most challenging section, heavily emphasizing Class 11 application logic).
- Chemistry: 45 Questions (Moderately difficult, leaning closely on core NCERT chemical reactions and physical formulas).
- Biology (Botany & Zoology): 90 Questions (High-scoring segment directly aligned with NCERT textbook layouts).
