JPU UG Admission 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Jai Prakash University, Chhapra offers 4-Year Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) Undergraduate Degree courses (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com Honours/Research) matching the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP).
To register for the online form, candidates must meet the minimum educational requirements specified below for each respective stream:
1. Faculty of Arts (Bachelor of Arts – B.A.)
- Basic Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) or any other recognized national/state board (CBSE, ICSE, etc.).
- Minimum Marks: Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the specific subject they wish to opt for as their Major Subject (Honours).
- Stream Switch Rule: Students coming from a Science or Commerce background in 12th standard can switch to the Arts stream, provided they have scored at least a 45% aggregate score in their 10+2 exams.
2. Faculty of Science (Bachelor of Science – B.Sc.)
- Basic Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate in Science (I.Sc.) or equivalent 10+2 exam with relevant science subjects.
- Minimum Marks: A minimum of 45% marks is required in the chosen Major Subject.
- Subject Restrictions:
- To choose Mathematics or Physics as a Major, the candidate must have studied Mathematics in 12th standard.
- To choose Botany or Zoology as a Major, the candidate must have studied Biology in 12th standard.
- Note: Arts and Commerce students are not eligible to apply for B.Sc. programs.
3. Faculty of Commerce (Bachelor of Commerce – B.Com)
- Basic Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate in Commerce (I.Com) or Intermediate in Science (I.Sc.).
- Minimum Marks: A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the Intermediate exam is mandatory.
- Note: Students who passed 12th standard with an Arts background are generally not permitted to choose Commerce programs.

Important Notes for Applicants:
- Compartmental Students: Candidates who cleared their 10+2 via compartmental or supplementary examinations are eligible to fill out the form, provided they meet the minimum 45% mark threshold.
- Form Verification Warning: Meeting the online form eligibility does not guarantee a seat. Merit ranks are calculated automatically by the Samarth system based on 10+2 marks, subject availability, and category reservation quotas. Incorrect entry of marks will result in immediate rejection during physical verification.
Mandatory Documents for JPU College Admission 2026
Candidates must bring one set of self-attested photocopies along with the original files of the following credentials:
- Printed JPU UG Online Application Form
- Provisional Allotment Letter (Downloaded from Samarth Portal)
- Class 10th (Matric) Marksheet and Passing Certificate
- Class 12th (Intermediate) Marksheet and Admit Card
- School/College Leaving Certificate (CLC)
- Migration Certificate (For students migrating from boards other than BSEB Bihar)
- Caste/Category Certificate (If applicable for reservation claims)
- Recent Passport-size Photographs
How to Check JPU UG 1st Merit List & Download Allotment Letter
- Go to the official admission link at jpvadm.samarth.edu.in or use the redirect tab from jpv.ac.in.
- Click on the Login button. Enter your registered Application Number and Password created during the application submission process.
- Once inside the student dashboard, look for the "Selection Status" or "Allotment Status" link to view your assigned college.
- Click on "Download Allotment Letter" and save the PDF file. You must print this out as it is required at the time of college verification.
- Visit your allotted college on or before June 29, 2026 with original documents. Once verified by the college authorities, log back in to pay your enrollment fees online before June 30, 2026 (3:00 PM).
