Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The Computer Based Examination (CBE) has a specific marking pattern. For every correct answer, you award yourself 2 marks. For every incorrect response, a negative marking penalty of 0.25 marks (or as designated in the official 2026 guidelines) is deducted. Total tentative score = (Correct Answers × 2) − (Incorrect Answers × Negative Marking).
SSC has provided an online objection window active from 15 June 2026 to 20 June 2026 (until 6:00 PM). You can challenge any incorrect answer key directly via the ssc.gov.in portal by logging in with your credentials, submitting valid supporting documentation, and paying a non-refundable processing fee of ₹50 per challenged question.
No. The current answer key is strictly provisional. After the closing of the objection window on 20 June, subject matter experts will review all candidate challenges. If valid, changes will be made, and a finalized Final Answer Key will be compiled. The actual normalization process and final results will be mapped using that finalized key.
Candidates who cross the tier-1 CBT cut-off thresholds will be shortlisted for Stage-2: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This physical stage is purely qualifying in nature (incorporating running timelines, height, and chest metrics) and is mandatory to advance to the final medical screening and document verification.
No. SSC provides a strictly temporary availability window for downloading individual response sheets and keys. It is highly recommended to save and download your Response Sheet PDF to your personal device immediately, as the download link will be deactivated shortly after the objection window closes.
